2017 LaPlante Martin D-28SW Style 12 Fret German Brazilian #118
About This Guitar
2017 LaPlante D-28SW Style German Brazilian #118
This is a David LaPlante recreation of a guitar Martin built for the Wurlitzer company in the 1960's. LaPlante is a pro luthier who builds at a very high caliber and uses great luthiery technique to deliver very nice guitars. He sourced old tone woods and used era specific construction to recreate this Martin 60's D-28SW!
This guitar is in excellent condition. There is light handling wear but no damage or wear to report. The guitar was converted to a Lefty at one point - note the treble side fingerboard markers and the filled bass side strap button hole. The bridge was replaced when it was converted to Lefty. It was then reverted back to right hand play simply by filling in the bridge slot and reslotting it for a new saddle.
This guitar features a wonderful taper braced D-28 12 Fret Dread! The tone is full and rich. The sound is loud but not muddy. The tapered straight braced offers a wonderfully nuanced and articulate instrument for the discerning ear.
The aftermarket case is in poor condition but totally functional. There is a Seymour Duncan D-Tar Wavelegnth pickup installed.
