About This Gibson Custom Guitar

2006 Gibson Luthier's Choice Advanced Jumbo - Player Grade #02826001

I emailed Gibson with the serial number and here is their response - "Your guitar shows up in our records as a special production model from the Custom Shop in Bozeman. The business unit is listed as Gibson Acoustic, with the serial 02326001 (#434). The notes just read “Special Production” and it was originally shipped to Yamano Music in Japan in 2006. The SKU tied to it is SPLMON05."

At some point the guitar was imported back into the US. The sides took side cracks the shoot off from the end pin. Usually we see this type of damage from shipping a guitar. There was a pickup installed at some point and this likely was uninstalled during the "repair". The repairs to the guitar are executed poorly. It looks like wood putty was squeezed in and sealed with glue. The last pictures shows the repairs from the inside, these "cleats" are glued along the entirety of the side cracks. The back has one small crack that was similarly repaired. The top miraculously has no cracks. The bridge appears reglued. There are finish checks throughout.

This is a cool opportunity at a great sounding Gibson with a lot of power and bite at a player grade price!

The action at the 12th fret is set to 6/64" on the Low E and 5/64" on the High E.
