The Martin D-35 is a distinctive voice in the 2025 Standard Series refresh, known for its powerful bass response, lush overtone character, and iconic three-piece back design. This refreshed version enhances the classic D-35 formula with refined playability and updated Golden Era-inspired construction.

Built with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-35 delivers a deep, piano-like low end with shimmering highs and a slightly scooped midrange. Compared to the D-28, the D-35 offers a more open and airy tonal character, making it especially appealing for players who want expansive bass and harmonic richness.

The 2025 update features Golden Era (GE) forward-shifted non-scalloped bracing with 1/4" spruce braces, providing a unique blend of strength, clarity, and dynamic control. This bracing approach helps maintain note definition while still allowing the top to breathe and resonate fully.

Playability improvements include a GE Modified Low Oval neck profile, long diamond neck transition, sleeker vintage-style heel, and a thinner fingerboard with gently beveled comfort edges. The addition of an angled nut enhances string alignment and feel for a smooth, comfortable playing experience.
