About This Guitar
1964 Martin 00-18 #198041
3 LBS 7.6 OZS
This is an exceptionally clean 1964 00-18. It came on trade from the previous owner who took care of it since 1980. Original nut is included in the sale.
You will find sporadic dings throughout from normal play. The finish is original except the back of the neck where it appears something was drop filled. There are two impact cracks on the treble side towards the lower bout.
The guitar is setup with lights and the action measured at the 12th fret is 6/64" on the Low E and 5/64" on the High E. The saddle is almost through. I don't a neck reset is necessary but it would benefit sonically from it.
There is an ancient Barcus Berry pickup installed. The case is a Martin hardhsell case from the 80's.
Blacklight Video report on the finish: Light area around the birdge is a little lighter probably from a bridge reglue and clean up. The only other area of altered finish is on the back of neck and wear a strap would have been hung behind the nut. See the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WarMeNjnks
