About This Guitar

1978 Greven Dreadnought Adirondack Brazilian Rosewood #D-11578

This is a fantastic guitar that is full of life and potential. It will need some luthiery work to enjoy it maximally, but the guitar is totally playable as is. The guitar has a deep full voice. It features a slightly larger sound hole at 4 5/16”. To enjoy it with maximum potential, luthiery work needed would include repairing the center seam top crack, replace the shaved bridge and reset the neck.

The instrument shows signs of a good guitar that has been enjoyed over the past 45 years. There are sporadic nicks and dings and crazing to the finish.

Past luthiery work includes a small gap in binding replaced near the neck as seen in pic. Also in the same pic, see a small piece of wood is added to the heel. It is smooth to the touch and appears to be an old repair.

The jumbo frets are full height with the first sign of fret wear. The Ebony fingerboard is free of indentations. Herringbone Top inlay and Pearl Rosette look great.

It has a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. There is a light haze on the finish that comes off with a light touch.

The paper label was made by Greven and added to the instrument at some point later in its life. Hardshell case included.
