The Martin Custom Shop 00-28 Style Deep Body is a beautifully crafted small-body guitar that combines premium tonewoods with a unique deep body design for enhanced resonance and tonal depth.

Built by Martin’s Custom Shop in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, this instrument features a hand-selected Adirondack spruce top paired with striking wild East Indian rosewood back and sides. This tonewood combination produces a voice that is clear, dynamic, and harmonically rich, with excellent projection and responsiveness.

The distinctive deep body construction gives this 00-size guitar greater internal air volume than a traditional 00 model, producing noticeably stronger bass response and increased overall volume while maintaining the clarity and articulation that smaller body guitars are known for.

Custom Shop Craftsmanship

This Custom Shop instrument incorporates Martin’s traditional dovetail neck joint and solid tonewood construction, ensuring long-term stability and excellent tonal transfer.

The herringbone top trim, Style 28 rosette, and elegant diamond and square fingerboard inlays give the guitar the timeless look associated with classic Martin Style 28 instruments.

The beautifully figured wild East Indian rosewood adds dramatic visual character while contributing rich overtones and sustain.

Playability & Feel

The comfortable Modified Low Oval neck profile paired with a 1 3/4" nut width offers excellent playability for fingerstyle techniques while remaining comfortable for light strumming.

An ebony fingerboard and bridge provide durability and strong note clarity, while bone nut and saddle components help maximize sustain and tonal transfer.

The slightly shorter 24.9" scale length also adds a relaxed feel under the fingers, making the guitar especially comfortable for extended playing sessions.
