Martin Custom Shop D 28 Italian Alpine 1935 Sunburst #2795095
I handpicked these tonewoods while at the Martin Guitar Factory. The Italian Alpine Top is very tight grained and has light figuring. The East Indian Rosewood is rich in color and has figuring and cool landscaping grain.
I went with some of the older D-28 specs, post pre-war and pre-reimagined. Namely, the bracing pattern is in the standard position, not forward or rearward shifted, and non-scalloped braces. The tuners are also the Grover kidney tuners.
