About This Vintage Martin Guitar
1966 Martin D-35S Conversion D12-35 6 String (12 String) D-35 Brazilian Rosewood #211381
This guitar is a 1966 D12-35. If want to play it as a 12 String, you'll just need to put a set of strings on it. I didn't do any conversion work, only simply installed a set of Medium Guage Strings on it. I have the other 6 bridge pins in the case. The case is in great working condition.
1 7/8" Nut - 2 3/8 String Spacing
The tuners are made by Kolb. It would have originally shipped with Waverly. There was some dissatisfaction with those tuners and Martin offered the Kolb as a direct replacement.
Check out the Brazilian Rosewood!!
The Sitka Spruce Top shows signs of love and play. The finish is checked thorughout. The original saddle slot was filled and a compensated 2 piece saddle was installed.
The Top and Sides are crack free.
The original pickguard looks amazing. There is no B string crack, but the guard does appear to be slightly pulling in some areas.
There is an old Barcus Berry passive pickup installed.
The finish is all original except at the heel. The heel has a hairline crack and because the body and instrument are so well conserved, we can assume it occurred during a neck reset. You really have to get it in the sunlight to find it. I attached a picture. The binding at the top waist, bass side has a slight gap and will need glued to be flush with the side. There are 2 cracks in the back center wedge. The cracks are cleated.
