Martin Guitar Build Overview

Martin D-28 (1970) One Owner Brazilian Rosewood Project #256495

This guitar was brought in by the original owner who is turning 90 soon! This unit was built within the first 500 guitars of 1970 when Martin was using their final stash of Brazilian Rosewood.

There is the good and the bad with the guitar. The good, it is unmolested and unmodified. The bad, it has been left unkept and needs serviced. There are several open top cracks, a few small areas of loose binding, lifting bridge, and neck reset are needed. There are no cracks in the sides or back. There are small divots in the fingerboard in the first position.

It is all original other than the missing pickguard, and has never had a neck set. I have no cleaned the finish at all other than wiping dust off. The guitar will look great after service and the dirt cleaned off it. The case is original to the guitar.
